The artist
Ava Sylva creates imagined natural forms at the threshold of recognition. Flowers, shells, fruit, ice and volcanic terrain are transformed into intimate emblems of origin, fertility and renewal.
Her work asks the eye to move slowly: what first appears botanical or geological gradually reveals a distinctly feminine architecture. The result is neither anatomy nor abstraction, but a private language shared by body and earth.
Selected works · 2026
Thirteen signed works, produced as museum-grade archival pigment prints in strictly limited editions.
In situ · private placements
Selected works shown at Collector scale. Complimentary, to-scale visualisations are available for private clients before acquisition.
Terra Femina
Across ice, mineral, water and fire, Sylva finds recurring structures: openings, folds, thresholds and the quiet force of emergence.

Material & process
Each composition begins with close observation of natural structures and develops through digital image-making, art direction and a rigorous process of selection and refinement.
The final works are produced as archival pigment prints on museum-grade cotton paper. Deep blacks, mineral colour and fine surface detail are preserved without reflective glare.
Studio practice
Ava Sylva’s practice begins with the close observation of botanical, marine and geological structures. Each work is developed through concept, art direction, digital image-making and a rigorous process of selection and refinement.
Across recurring forms of opening, shelter and emergence, the work explores the visual relationship between femininity and the natural world without allowing biography to become the subject.
